Primed for Inequality

How Amazon continues to profit from injustice

It is heartbreaking to look on as the Amazon continues to be pillaged and yet, there is a strange irony that the Amazon Corporation also finds itself in a different turmoil.

With its ever-expanded services and influence, it may sound strange to suggest that the 3rd largest corporation is suffering anything more than reputational bruises as opposed to massive organizational hemorrhaging. One thing is certain — the fact that Amazon is built upon exploitation is undeniable.

From factory to doorstep the process is riddled with inequality — from workers being treated like robots to the carbon footprint and wastage produced by packaging and everything in between.

Amazon represents one of the pillars of modern hypocrisy that stems from mostly sofa protesters and liberal-minded consumers conveniently ignoring the moral bankruptcy behind the convenience of their desired goods . After all, it is precisely this group, to which I regrettably and admittedly belong, that cares so much about inequality in the first place. We have the luxury to debate with friends, write articles and ponder about these societal issues as opposed to actually experiencing them first-hand.
